Homefires ™ Care Instructions

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

SPOT CLEANING YOUR HOMEFIRES™ RUGS:
All Homefires™ rugs can be spot cleaned.   We recommend spot cleaning  with clean, clear, plain water.  Do not use soap unless absolutely necessary when spot cleaning.  If soap is used, take special care to rinse thoroughly.  Rinsing with a mild solution of vinegar and water to help completely remove any soap residue left on your rug.  Soap residue left on your rug will attract dirt and consequently the cleaned area will become soiled sooner than the rest of the rug.
Homefires™ Indoor Only Area Rugs:
Fiber 100% Polyester
1. Your Homefires ™ rug should be taken to a reputable dry cleaner that has experience cleaning rugs.  Make sure you tell your professional dry cleaner the fiber of your rug so they can determine the best cleaning solution to use.
2.  We recommend that you use a liner underneath your Homefires™ rug to prevent the rug from traveling or sliding on your floor.  The use of a liner will also help insure that there is no color transfer from your rug to the floor surface.
3.Frequent vacuuming of tufted Homefires™ area rug will shorten the length of time that your rug sheds.   Shedding is a natural occurrence of rugs and will diminish over time.
4.  We recommend vacuuming with the floor setting to prevent pulling the hooked yarn from it's foundation.  If your rug shows signs of a "sprout" (loose hook) carefully trim with a scissors - never pull loose yarn.  Shedding is a normal part of the wear of hand made rugs.  Man made fibers, like polypropylene, can be "shaved" with a portable sweater shaver to make the rug look like new.
Homefires™ Indoor / Outdoor  Area Rugs:
Fiber:  100% Polypropylene
1.  Homefires™ Indoor/Outdoor rugs should be spot cleaned or washed outside with mild soap and rinsed thoroughly.  Your rug can be hung to dry or placed in an area where air can circulate around the entire area of the rug.  Allowing your rug to stay wet on the ground for an extended period of time, will encourage the growth of mildew.  Rugs should be left to dry as quickly as possible.
